CROATIA CAPTURED BY CRIMINAL - case of false passports and HYPO Group Affair
During television show ‘Nedjeljom u 2’ (Sunday at 2), on 3 July 2011, President of Partnership for Social Development, Munir Podumljak, showed to the public copies of Croatian passports on names: Zvonimir Majdak, Stjepan Kotarski and Franjo Rudelić. Each of those copies clearly showed the same picture, picture of Vladimir Zagorec. All three copies were issued on the same date, and with passports, ID cards and driving licences were issued as well, thus creating completely valid false identities. Even though, similar cases can be found in nearly every country at some point in history, what is especially disputable is the situation in which the former General Vladimir Zagorec, as well as other officials which had access to such covers, misused those identities for personal gains. Very similarly, other officials got rich and some of today taicoons as well, and identities in question hold the key to one of the biggest affairs in Croatia – HYPO Affair. »» more

CENSORSHIP IN CROATIA
10.02.2011
Brief on the Panel Discussion held on February 10, 2011 at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb, organised by Partnership for Social Development
In our country censorship is in force. Censorship which is happening is not punishable; thieves are getting richer by censorship. Those who oppose these thieves and who fight against censorship are simply killed in the media by censorship itself(!). – This was the main message of today's panel discussion titled „Freedom of the press, the EU and democracy“. »» more

After six years of fighting, Latinica as well as the fight for the protection of journalists' rights, have reached the wall of shame of the politics and a society which reads about democracy in tabloids and which glances upon democracy in Hollywood production products, a society to which democracy and human rights are only a distant light of hope. »» more
